NEED FOR FACILITIES

Recently voted by the Angling Mail as one of the top ‘day ticket stillwaters’ in the whole of UK, Wylands is widely regarded as one of the best angling centres in Europe.

Our facilities are inadequate, in comparison to other fisheries in the South East. If passed the new proposals will turn this around in order to bring you, the angler, the very best ‘fishing experience’.

We already boast the largest single match lake in the country, playing host to the National and European Police Championships and Sainsbury's National Angling Championship, as well as regular local club matches throughout the year.

With your help the new plans would make Wylands a premier location for British and International angling matches without impacting upon the beauty of the area.

Opposite: Fish o Mania contestants queuing up in the cold to draw their pegs.

We hope to replace the disused ugly farm building and tiny snack bar with a new indoor cafe with toilets and committee rooms for matches.

PROPOSALS
  • Replace the disused and ‘ugly’ iron barn with an indoor café and toilets
  • Provide 2 committee rooms for fishing matches
  • Provide more self-catering accommodation for fishermen and their families

PLANNING APPLICATIONS

APP/U1430/A/07/2042177: Back to top

Full planning permission to replace an existing tight group of structures on the west side of the drive south of ‘House Lake’ with a new single storey building comprising meeting room, facilities and cafe building. The building would be steel framed and clad with profiled metal sheeting with areas of glazing.

RR/2004/3587/P: Back to top

This application proposes 25 twin unit timber lodges, in place of the 15 previously approved in outline, on the east side of the drive opposite the group of buildings.  It is requested that external details be conditional.  The units would be available for holiday use all year round but not for permanent residency.  Additionally, it is proposed an area for touring caravans and tents of about 1 hectare (2 ¼ acres) on the east side of the access drive about midway along its length.
