    OUR FISHING LAKES

    There’s 10 fantastic lakes at Wylands – something for every Angler!

    1. HOUSE LAKE
    Rating:
    Easy
    Holds carp (common nearly 26lb), skimmer bream (over 5lb),
    tench (over 8lb).
    Busiest on balmy summer evenings and excellent during
    the winter when pole fishing with light tackle provides
    good results.

    2. JUNIOR LAKE
    Rating:
    Easy
    A recent addition to Wylands -
    it’s the ideal lake for juniors or those anglers just
    starting out.

    3. ROSIE’S LAKE
    Rating:
    Easy
    Our largest lake and holds a large head of tench,
    roach, perch, chub, crucian carp, rudd and bream.
    Perfect for both beginners and experienced anglers
    who like fishing the real old fashioned way!

    4. THE SNAKE MATCH LAKE
    Rating:
    Easy
    The largest match lake in the UK – over 2 miles long
    and split into three match lakes with 205 pegs and a big
    reputation!

    Available as an ‘Open’ venue, for day tickets and club bookings.

    5. FIELD LAKE
    Rating:
    Easy
    Stocked with carp (up to 3lb) and tench (up to 1lb) -
    ideal for introducing young people to angling!
    On a good day using light tackle, ‘a fish a cast’ is the
    norm, whilst bigger carp (record 23lb 2oz) are usually
    taken on the top.

    6. MIDDLE LAKE
    Rating:
    Moderate
    Arguably the best ‘all round’ lake, fishes well in summer and winter.
    Largest common carp (26lb 9oz). Bream and tench 9lb+
    and perch 3lb 8oz, and a gudgeon (nearly 6in) was caught!
    Fishing from the far bank is not allowed.

    7. KELL LAKE
    Rating:
    Very Difficult
    Provides the most double figure carp at Wylands -
    although surface fishing with biscuit is extremely difficult!
    Estimated to 40-50 double figure carp.
    The record is a 34lb 10oz mirror carp.

    8. MAISIE’S LAKE
    Rating:
    Easy
    Recently opened fishing lake for rudd, roach, bream, perch,
    tench and carp to 12lb.

    9. OLD SPECIMEN LAKE
    Rating:
    Moderate
    Small carp averaging up to 2lb (record nearly 25lb, bags of over 70lb a day).
    Tench, small carp, roach and rudd makes for extremely good
    winter fishing.

    10. NEW SPECIMEN LAKE
    Rating:
    Difficult
    A large island ensures most pegs have unrestricted access to a far bank.
    Barbel (current record 14lb), carp (currently 32lb 7oz), good number of doubles and upper doubles and roach (2.5lb).

    PLEASE NOTE:
    Most of the lakes produce the occasional eel (largest 5lb 6oz) from Middle Lake),
    but there are no pike in the waters.

    Barbless hooks must be used at all times.

    Bait Bans: Nuts, peas, beans, bloood worm, joker, trout pellets, fishmeal-based groundbait, trout pellet-based groundbait, fishmeal-based boilies.

    Swim Stim Koi Pellets and Groundbait are allowed.
